1MORE Colorbuds are perfect for music lovers who shop on a budget. They look stylish and the musical delivery is balanced but still exciting and far more sophisticated than its mid-range price tag would suggest. A secure and comfortable fit and some water resistance means it's also good for exercise.

The 1MORE ColorBuds True Wireless In-Ear Headphones have one driver per earbud in a much less typical configuration, thanks to the use of a single full-range balanced armature instead of the standard dynamic driver used by most other single-driver TWS models.

1MORE entered the TWS market a little later than other brands, but despite the global situation, it continues to release newer models and enrich its True Wireless catalog. The 1MORE ColorBuds True Wireless In-Ear Headphones join the brand's lineup as a mid-range model with a friendlier price tag than their flagship line, but retaining quality materials and attention to detail.

1 more ColorBuds 2 specs and features:

  • Bluetooth with AAC codec and AptX Adaptive

  • IPX5 waterproof (rain and sweat resistant)

  • 5.5 - 7.5 hours of listening on a full charge (ANC on/off)

  • The charging case can fully charge the headphones 3 times

  • Comes with ear cups in 3 sizes, USB-C cable, English manual

With a weight of only 4.1 grams per earpiece, this TWS from 1MORE belongs to the lighter category of True Wireless earphones. The headphones are made of plastic with a metal back plate, which is also a touch-sensitive surface that allows for full control of the unit - the touch controls were always responsive and effective during our test. Compared to many other TWS earphones, pairing the 1MORE ColorBuds TWS for the first time was extremely easy and fast, while subsequent automatic pairings were spot on without having to deal with failed reconnection or manual re-pairing every time.

Inside each earbud, the ColorBuds carry a 55mAh battery that can offer up to 6 hours of continuous use, while combining them with OTG charging, as the 410mAh battery case can extend the battery life to 22 hours. The headphone battery can be fully charged in 70 minutes, but it can also be fast charged in 15 minutes for 2 hours of battery life. The case requires 85 minutes to fully charge when compatible with a 5V 1A USB power supply.

The 1MORE ColorBuds True Wireless In-Ear Headphones can also be found as the 1MORE ESS6001T and can be purchased in 4 different color options:

The right cut

You may not be familiar with 1More, but this isn't the first time the brand has wowed me with a pair of wireless in-ears. The predecessor to the ColorBuds, the 1More Stylish topped our list of the best wireless earbuds so far.

Still available at a lower price, the Stylish are small and comfortable pods with comfortable silicone ear cups and very secure ear fins. Almost everyone I know who has tried them has commented on how comfortable and great they sound. WIRED reviews editor Jeffrey Van Camp says he had to constantly explain to his wife who would be wearing them that day; I ended up buying my parents a pair each for the holidays last year.

Cha-Cha-Cha changes

There are invisible changes that make the ColorBuds slightly better than the Stylish in other ways. The headphones now offer four microphones and can do a better job of blocking out background noise when you're on the phone (a boon for the person on the other end). Now you can also automatically pause your music just by removing it from your ears.

The other upgrades aren't as exciting. The headphones have gone from a one-button system for playing and pausing music on the Stylish to touch controls on the outside of each earcup. The touch controls work as advertised for listening at home and at work, but if you have long hair that gets sweaty when you run, you can now look forward to the occasional play and pause of music when you rub against it. Return button, 1More!

Music

The ColorBuds support aptX and AAC encoding for better quality Bluetooth streaming, meaning you'll get a slightly higher bitrate from all modern phones. This encoding is nice, but it's a great fit that makes headphones sound so great. With a near-perfect seal in the ear canals, you get some of the most balanced sound I've heard from a true wireless headphone below the premium level.

Daily drivers

The ColorBuds are a more comfortable and better sounding version of my previous favorite true wireless earbuds. Sure, they have slightly worse battery life and the controls aren't as great, but those are really small concessions for headphones that fit this well.
